PBH Affinity Circles July Newsletter
This month, we are excited to announce the launch of our summer circles in McKees Rocks and East Liberty. I am always amazed and filled with gratitude when I visit our circles. Witnessing the power of community gathering, sharing, and leading each other in a wonderful and impactful space is truly inspiring.
Cecelia Ware and Alana Griffin are leading and facilitating these circles, creating an environment where everyone can connect and grow together. I had the privilege of witnessing two powerful groups come together, fostering a sense of unity and mutual support.
Sheba Gittens led both groups in mindfulness practice, guiding everyone in cultivating inner peace and clarity. Her expertise and calming presence made these sessions truly special, providing tools for everyone to carry peace and mindfulness into their daily lives.
Thank you for being a part of our community and for contributing to the positive energy that makes these gatherings so meaningful. Let’s continue to support and uplift one another as we navigate this journey together.

Happy July!
July is full of celebrations! Independence Day, National Ice Cream Month, World Population Month, Nelson Mandela International Day, and National Picnic Month are some of the ways we celebrate July. This vibrant month also marks the peak of summer, with this year bringing truly HOT weather and long days perfect for summer fun. Communities come together in so many ways this month. Together we can enjoy fireworks, parades, and family gatherings, creating memories that last a lifetime. It's a time to indulge in the long days, the treats that can cool us off, and just to fellowship with one another. It’s important to find joy, especially when we are all being so tested by traumatic historical events and personal challenges. Community, celebrations, and indulgences can heal our souls. So, whether you're picnicking in the park or honoring the legacy of great leaders, July can offer something special for everyone.
We hope you enjoyed all the festivities and made the most of this wonderful month!
We have successfully launched 14 cohorts!!!
We are excited to share that we recently launched our 10th cohort in McKees Rocks and our 4th cohort at the Kingsley Association. These milestones are a testament to the growing interest and impact of our program. The feedback we have received from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the growth they have seen and the community support they’ve received.

Early Morning Mindfulness Practice
Starting your day with calm and clarity is possible by incorporating a simple early morning mindfulness practice. Just a few minutes each morning can set a positive tone for the rest of your day. Here’s how you can begin:
1. Find a Quiet Space: Choose a spot where you can be comfortable and away from distractions.
2. Focus on Your Breath: Close your eyes and take slow, deep breaths. Inhale deeply through your nose, hold for a few seconds, and exhale slowly through your mouth.
3. Set an Intention: Think of a word or phrase that represents what you want to focus on for the day. It could be "peace," "gratitude," or "clarity."
4. Be Present: Notice the sensations in your body, the sounds around you, and the rhythm of your breathing. If your mind wanders, gently bring your attention back to your breath.
Starting your day with mindfulness can help reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance overall well-being. Give it a try tomorrow morning and experience the difference it can make! Please share any early morning practice tips you have with us.
